FACE AND NECK LIFT (RHYTIDECTOMY)

A Face and Neck Lift, or Rhytidectomy, can significantly improve signs of aging in the face and neck by targeting excess skin and wrinkles in the area. The facelift specialists at My Houston Surgeons will often also tighten the facial muscles during this procedure, to provide natural-looking results. This cosmetic surgery focuses on areas below the bottom eyelid and down to the neck.

Preparing for a Face and Neck Lift with My Houston Surgeons

Our team of surgeons is widely recognized for their excellence in performing both cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, as well as non-surgical procedures. The Face and Neck Lift is performed on an outpatient basis, meaning that it offers minimal downtime and recovery. Sometimes called a fascialplasty or surgical facial rejuvenation, this procedure can help patients achieve a wrinkle-free and more youthful look. Before developing a surgical plan, our doctors will study your medical history and listen carefully to your desired cosmetic goals, so that they can personalize the procedure to your needs.

The Face and Neck Lift Procedure

The Face and Neck Lift is performed by the surgeon lifting the skin and elevating the underlying facial musculature and facial support to a more pleasing position. Excess skin is removed and the incisions are concealed around the ear, to avoid visual scarring.2

This procedure is performed in our surgical facility, accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF). During your consultation, our team will help you to decide which type of Face and Neck lift is best suited for your needs. We offer a variety of options, including:

  • Skin-Only Lifts: Our surgeons lift only the skin layer, along with the fatty layer of the muscle.
  • Dual Plane FaceLifts: We elevate the skin in a separate plane from the deeper facial tissue.
  • Composite Lift/Deep Plane Lift: Our surgeons elevate the skin and deeper tissues simultaneously.
  • Subperiosteal Lifts: We address the deeper tissues of the face. This significantly improves the appearance of signs of aging in the cheek area.
  • Short Scar FaceLift: This allows for a more vertical facelift with an intense focus on the cheeks.

Recovery & Results

After successfully performing your Face and Neck Lift procedure, our team will provide you with clear and informative after-care instructions. As this cosmetic procedure offers minimal recovery time, slight bruising and swelling may occur and may last for approximately ten days. However, most patients are able to return to their normal activities within one to two weeks.3
