How Does Profound Work?

Our bodies naturally produce hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin, which are the building blocks of healthy skin. However, the production of these elements slows as we age. Profound RF uses well-established microneedling methods along with revolutionary radiofrequency therapy to achieve dermal remodeling and increase production of hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin in order to revitalize the skin. The result is smoother, firmer skin with improved tone and texture.

Preparation

The first step is a consultation appointment with one of our highly experienced plastic surgeons. We will assess your skin and discuss your goals in order to determine if you are a candidate for Profound RF. If this procedure is right for you, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan and give you detailed pre-procedure instructions.

The Procedure

Profound RF does not require general anesthesia or any incisions. The treatment area will be numbed with a local anesthetic. Your doctor will apply the specialized Profound device, which utilizes very fine microneedles to deliver radiofrequency energy.

Recovery

After a Profound treatment, patients typically experience four to six days of downtime. This is due to swelling, but after the swelling recedes patients are free to resume normal activity right away.

Results

While some non-surgical skin tightening procedures require multiple sessions, most patients can achieve their desired results with just one Profound RF treatment. Results are progressive as your body gradually begins to produce more collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. Patients often notice initial results after several weeks and optimal results approximately six to nine months after treatment.
