The VASER Liposuction Procedure
The VASER liposuction procedure may be performed under sedation with local anesthesia or general anesthesia to ensure your comfort. Your surgeon will begin by making small incisions in the targeted areas. Then, using the VASERlipo wand, pulses of ultrasound energy will be directed into the fat cells. This ultrasound energy helps to break down and liquefy the fat cells, making excess fat. Finally, the surgeon will use gentle suction to remove the liquefied excess fat from the body with a cannula. This minimally invasive technique allows for precise contouring and a quicker recovery compared to traditional liposuction methods.
VASERlipo Recovery
Following a VASERlipo procedure, you may experience some mild swelling and bruising in the treated areas. These are normal and should gradually subside over time. To aid your recovery and help your body adapt to its new shape, you’ll wear a compression garment for several weeks after the procedure. This garment helps to reduce swelling, support your new contours, and improve overall healing.
It’s important to follow your plastic surgeon’s postoperative instructions carefully, including any recommendations for activity restrictions and follow-up appointments.
VASERlipo Results
While initial improvements may be visible soon after the VASERlipo procedure, your final results will typically become apparent in roughly 3 to 6 months as your body continues to heal and adjust.
Your VASERlipo results are permanent, however, can and will change with your body due to aging and weight gain. That’s why maintaining a healthy diet and exercise regimen is critical to ensuring long-term results.
