Mommy Makeover: What Areas Does the Procedure Target?
Pregnancy can take a toll on your body, affecting your mid-section, breast, legs and more. After nine months of carrying your little one and the time it takes to nurse, you’ll be more than ready to restore that pre-baby body! You may search for results by dieting, exercising, seeking non-invasive treatments, or cosmetic enhancements. All have been proven effective in achieving post-pregnancy body bliss, but consider a Mommy Makeover if you have more than one area of concern.
A Mommy Makeover is a single-session surgery that combines three procedures; an abdominoplasty, breast augmentation/lift and liposuction in order to target the three common areas of post-pregnancy issues.
Breast Procedures: During pregnancy and after nursing, women experience changes in size, shape or unevenness in symmetry. Breast Augmentation surgery is one of the most common and frequently performed cosmetic enhancements in the United States. Typically, this procedure is popular after childbirth because of its ability to correct a change in size or shape of breasts.
Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck): In addition to enhancing your breasts, consider slimming your abdomen. After carrying a child for nine months, the stretching of the skin around your waistline doesn’t just bounce back. Although we wish it would, diet and exercise isn’t always a fix-all. Even after months of cutting carbs, routine runs at the park, you may still have remnants of sagging skin or pesky fat deposits. A tummy tuck removes excess skin and restores firmness resulting in a more slimming appearance. Remember not one procedure is perfect for everyone, if you a Mommy Makeover sounds like a great option for you, there are four different types to consider.
- Traditional-full abdominoplasty
- Extended-belt lipectomy, removing “love handles”
- Mini-partial abdominoplasty
- Circumferential-around the waistline, used with massive weight loss patients
Liposuction: This procedure removes fat by suction and vacuum powered equipment. Liposuction is used in conjunction with a Tummy Tuck because it helps accentuate the waist and add definition to the abdomen. A contoured waist helps flatten your appearance giving you a more defined and natural look.
Am I A Candidate?
The best candidates typically exhibit the following characteristics:
- Generally in good shape
- Non-Smoker
- No longer breast feeding
- Not planning on more children
- Deflated or asymmetrical appearance of breast
- Loss of volume in breast contributing to sagging
- Stubborn fat not improved by diet and exercise
- Excess skin in abdomen area
Using a combination of the three procedures is great option to achieve a pre-baby body.
