Sculptra is a unique anti-aging treatment, as it does not rely on hyaluronic acid like most other fillers. The injectables use poly-L-lactic acid to stimulate the body’s natural collagen formation. It works deep within a patient’s skin to encourage collagen formation, which then restores facial volume, and fills in stubborn fine lines and wrinkles.
During the procedure, one of our highly skilled plastic surgeons anesthetize the treatment area with a topical anesthetic if necessary. They will also map out the injection sites to ensure the injections are placed in the best possible spots for each individual patient.
Sculptra can be injected throughout the lower face, treating all areas that are often ignored by other injectable brands. It can treat the temples, jaw line, chin, cheeks, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines. Furthermore, Sculptra is a great treatment for patients whose bodies metabolize other fillers quickly, or for anyone who has lost volume in the face and wishes to restore a youthful appearance.
Through the use of poly-L-lactic acid, your skin forms a new framework, allowing it to hold moisture more effectively and regain elasticity. The treatment is administered in three separate session, typically leaving four to six weeks of down time between injections. Results are naturally progressive, improving after each session. The biggest benefit to Sculptra is that it simply relies on the patient’s own skin, meaning patients look natural. Most importantly, Sculptra injections last up to two years and longer.
